Elvira (born Cassandra Peterson on Sept. 17th) has had a very diverse career, ranging from singing in rock bands, to doing improvisational comedy, to being a Las Vegas showgirl, film actress, and eventually ending up as our very own queen of Halloween, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER LORRE!

Born Laszlo Lowenstein, Peter Lorre was born on June 26, 1904 in what is now Slovakia. Known to many as Vincent Price's comedic sidekick in the American International films of the 60's, Peter started his film career in 1929. Peter also starred in several horror and thriller films in his early days, working with such stars as Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, and was also known as Mr. Moto in the famous detective film series, before he got his roles in both Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon, both starring Humphrey Bogart. Peter went on to act in over 70 films, and is probably one of the most recognized voices and faces in film, most prominently his bugged eyes, spoofed in many films and cartoons. HAPPY BIRTHDAY VINCENT PRICE!

Vincent Leonard Price Jr. was born on this day, May 27th, 1911. I shouldn't have to tell you all who Vincent Price is, or how much he accomplished in his lifetime, but the man is and always will be the model of a consummate actor. His accomplishments, not only on film, but also on TV, stage, recordings and other media, will always attest to his wonderful talent. in his career he managed to star in over 103 films, as well as many TV appearances. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK PIERCE!

We're a day late, his birthday was May 5th, but nonetheless, I want to wish Jack a happy birthday! Jack is most famous for his design and creation of the make-up for Universal Studio's Frankenstein, in 1931, starring Boris Karloff. But Jack created many of the famous Universal monster make-up back then, for such films as The Man Who Laughs, The Mummy, starring Boris Karloff, Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi, The Bride of Frankenstein, and The Wolfman, starring Lon Chaney Jr., as well as many others. Jack Pierce left a legacy behind for many fans of classic monster movies, and inspired a slew of fans to become make-up men themselves, such as Rick Baker and Tom Savini.
